One Drop: Better Health Today App Reviews

Easy logging, wish it did more

The UI looks good, still one of the easiest apps to use for logging. For some reason though the app cant write more than carbs and bg when syncing with Apple health. Stats are nice. Not sure if I find the bubble timeline very helpful. I dont find the social aspect worthwhile. Good start for a diabetes app

Update annoying

Just shuffled menu items and buried them so user friendliness is less. Still didnt fix that sliding blood check entry device. Just let us key in numbers. It is nearly impossible to target exact numbers with that entry system that exists now. Researching for a different app. This is no longer helpful.

Great tracking for Carbs, but add HealthKit export for Calories, Fats, & Proteins!

I really like this app for tracking my carbs & meds. However, it only exports CARBS to HealthKit! When logging food, the app has data for CARBS, CALORIES, TOTAL FAT, & PROTEIN... This data is important for other types of diet monitoring. Please export this data to HealthKit, & One Drop will be almost perfect!

This is what I’ve been looking for!!

I am so happy with this app. I love that I can track my carbs, insulin and bg readings in one place. (My doctor will probably be pretty happy too.) It’s very clean and user friendly. The only thing it doesn’t do is entry on the Apple Watch, hopefully that is coming soon.

Great tool for me

After more than a decade as a diabetic, I may finally be getting the hang of this disease - due in no small part to One Drop. Ive had no difficulty entering readings - just tap and the number pad opens - no need to use the dial. The new food listings are comprehensive, but what isnt is included can be added easily enough. I need One Drop to track carbs. If I want to track calories and other nutrients, I use another app. It syncs well enough with Apple Health and my FitBit and has been the cornerstone of recent improvements in my A1C - down nearly 4 points in as many months. I looked forward to further refinements and iterations.

Frustrated!

Love the concept. Love the colors. Love the organization. But I am beyond frustrated in being able to use it! I can find no instruction manual. It is not user intuitive to me. It is also difficult to constantly go to a conversion chart to turn grams into ounces when logging meals. There is no instruction manual that I can find.

Definitely a good start!

UPDATED REVIEW: This new version just seemed to shuffle things around and did not really improve on much. It did add carb and activity summaries at the top and a few other small enhancements. Sadly, I had to take away a star because of the lack of a real big improvement, especially for something touted in the notes as being a major versioning. Hopefully they will get on the ball. They need some serious analysis of functionality and UI/UX. I am still hopeful and think this app has a lot of potential. Hopefully Ill be raising the stars again soon. PREVIOUS REVIEW: Hoping to see some real evaluation of the included features and the UI in the future. Things are still rough here and there (Im sure I am more critical than some users) but I see some real promise in this app. In addition to UI refinements and usability enhancements, more data points would be helpful. Encourage tracking of height, weight, sleep, water intake, etc. Take a look at what Lark, MySugr, and Prevent are doing. Personally, my biggest functionality gripes would be the inability to add a food that is not in the list and the fact that there is no daily tally of carbs, meds, activity, etc. Please, be careful with how you decide to start charging in the future. I am sure it is coming so I hope that you will think long and hard about a fair strategy and your competition before jumping into a pricing plan.

Fun & a Game Changer!

I stick by my original review!!! a phenomenal app! constantly improved by the developers who live "our lifestyle!" Seriously folks, these are the leaders in the upcoming field of "wearable tech!" I cant wait to use ANYTHING even half as good for Asthma/COPD! This isnt about making a few bucks on an app - this team is about changing patient care in the massive tsunami that is personal medicine management worldwide!!! Since Ive become a beta-tester for One Drop Ive learned more about my body in 6 months than in the previous 6 years under the direction of so-called medical professionals who are supposed to be "diabetes experts!" have a question? ask the development team! ALWAYS helpful! <3 Dr.T *************************** Ive read all the reviews so far and their seems to be a pattern to the "negative ones" ... Not reading the tutorial, and having problems about "privacy!" In the main menu there is a complete how to called "About OneDrop" and it covers it all!... Really! This is not as complicated as people may think... And second, this is a "community," lots of us enjoy receiving encouragement & tips from each other... It may work for you if you just give it a chance... The design originality (circles & colors) is FUN, informative, and engaging... And each version is a noticeable improvement over the last! This team really aims to change how we think about diabetes, which makes it a game changer! If there is a feature you dont like, or have suggestions for improving, contact the developers like I did! Telling everyone how its not "perfect" for you, is not helpful for the rest of us! This isnt a game on your iPhone folks, its diabetes - and I would hope we can stick together and live a better life!!!

One Drop

My blood sugar has dropped dramatically in one month as a result of using this app and it keeps getting better with each update.

Must Have for Diabetics

Having this App helps me monitor and manage my diabetes with ease - and it keeps getting better.

Great

Best app Ive used to track blood sugar, meds, the rest. Reminders are nice.

Great app very easy

very simple to use. I am somewhat lax about recording things, but this makes it easy with gentle reminders.

One Drop!

This app is amazing, really it is! I can log my testing, what Ive eaten and it shows me the carb intake, it reminds me to test and more if Ive logged a lot of carbs. It keeps track of my movement and shows me right there a great overall picture of how I am doing. I am testing more, paying better attention to what I eat and how I move because of it! So glad I found this at a time when I hit a struggle with my diabetes, it is helping me turn this around. Hugs to the techies who made this!

Rosalie

This app helps me so much. I try to remember to log my numbers in but I do forget my phone is near me more often then paper n pen. Also I love putting my numbers in since they have been awesome.

Trouble with the iPhone update

Still exploring all of the great features!

Great App

Forces me to stay on a regiment for boll of tests and medication!! Great work!!

Great app.

I like this app. It would be nice to have a way to track blood pressure in the app.

Nurse

Would like to be able to put in a previous date if I was unable to log in on a day.

Fantastic!

I have been more proactive with managing my Type II diabetes. Also my other meds are listed-relatively easy to do. Thank you!!

Finally, an app that “gets it!"

I’ve tried many apps to try to manage my diabetes in a better way, but they all fall somewhere between being an overcomplicated way to track things I don’t find important and treating diabetes as an ancillary that’s bolted on. One Drop is the first app I’ve used where I really feel the developer “gets it.” It allows me to tailor the app to track what *I* need to track and keeps the rest out of the way. I’ve never seen an app so well geared to tracking data from a CGM and an insulin pump—including basal rates. It reads in nutrition data from HealthKit, so if you use another app to track your food intake it’ll automatically display it, but it also has a quality food database that allows you to search for food for logging or scan a barcode. It incorporates activity data produced by the Apple Watch seamlessly. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so thrilled with an app that can help me improve my lifestyle, and the team behind it are both very responsive to their community and seem to be iterating according to customer feedback at a rapid clip. I’m excited to see the features that they have coming with CareKit integration, tighter integration with nutrition/diet data and HealthKit, and improvements that condense my data down into meaningful reports.
